At the Child Mind Institute we provide comprehensive evaluations for autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders using the gold standard diagnostic tools for autism, the ADI-R and ADOS-2.
During our evaluations we carefully assess children across several domains including their language, social, and cognitive functioning, as well as any comorbid challenges with attention, mood, anxiety, or behavior .
As part of an evaluation we also provide educational recommendations for school planning, including IEPs, placement and transition planning; treatment recommendations for outpatient- and home-based services; and recommendations for any appropriate community- or state-based services that children may be eligible for.
Afterward we follow children for regular re-evaluation in order to monitor their symptom trajectory, assess their response to intervention, and evaluate for mood, attention, anxiety, behavior and learning disorders as they get older.
