Join our School and Community Programs team for free professional development and caregiver workshops for partner districts in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our virtual school talks provide strategies for families, teachers, counselors, and administrators to help support K-12 grade students’ mental health and learning needs.

Executive functions are a set of mental skills that people use to learn, work, and manage their daily lives. These skills include working memory, flexible thinking, and self-control. This talk will discuss the importance of different aspects of executive function skills and provide practical strategies that caregivers can use to help kids strengthen them.

Sometimes it can feel like the holiday season brings as much stress as it does joy. Feeling stressed during the holiday season is understandable and common, but utilizing some practical tips, we can minimize the emotional toll of this season. This talk will help caregivers recognize factors that may contribute to feelings of stress during the holidays.

Integrating social-emotional learning into a child’s daily life is crucial for their healthy growth and development. This workshop will share simple ways to incorporate social-emotional learning into daily activities. The workshop will also include a discussion about caregiver self-care, because attending to our own mental health needs lets us support our children in more meaningful and effective ways.

Mindfulness and self‐compassion can help parents and caregivers navigate this landscape with greater skill and ease to become better attuned to themselves and the needs of their children. This workshop will share ways to bring mindfulness practice into your daily life. Caregivers will learn easy‐to‐follow mindfulness exercises to help stay calm in stressful situations and mindfulness activities to practice with children to build family resilience.
