Children with trichotillomania pull out hair from their scalp or other parts of their body, sometimes unconsciously.

Skin-picking is common, but it can become a disorder when a child (usually a teenager) can’t stop.

Kids who are extremely worried about a very minor or completely imagined flaw in their appearance may have body dysmorphic disorder.
