Democratizing Treatment through Digital Technology and Devices
There is an extreme shortage of mental health practitioners, here in the United States and around the world. Training programs are essential, but they are slow, expensive, and will likely never match the need. There has never been a more important time to use technology to improve access to care.
That’s why the Child Mind Institute’s MATTER Lab is developing digital apps and wearable devices that will bring improved care to anyone with a smartphone. Our software allows researchers to create customized apps without programming knowledge. We’re working on tech that helps clinicians improve communication with their patients and better understand what is happening between appointments. And all of our innovations are open-source and free to use.
